This is long over due. Sorry for the delay.
I was in Nicaragua over the long weekend (Labor day). Had a great time. However, the highlight of the trip was standing by the crater of an active volcano, Volcan Masaya.
There was a big hole where a constant supply of smoke was coming out. I admit, I first wanted to see hot boiling lava. However, the huge hole and constant smoke was impressive enough. It kinda looked like the big hole in Star Wars where Jabba The Hut enjoyed dropping people in.
Apart from that, the country is very green. By green I mean GREEN.
Another inresting thing was riding on a boat among many litle islets that were formed by hot lava pouring into the lake. The islands were owned by individuals and had very nice small houses on them.
Overall, Nicaragua: A really cool place.
